Red tape 'must be cut for small business'

Date Added: 21/03/2011

The chancellor George Osborne has been told that small businesses want him to cut the level of red tape they face in his Budget speech this week.

Martin Lyne, director of small to medium-sized enterprises at T-Mobile, stated that measures also need to be brought in by the Conservative MP to improve access to business lending.

He said: "Small businesses are no doubt also keen to see greater support from the major banks with regard to loans and providing greater flexibility over arrangements."

Mr Lyne added that changes the government can introduce in order to make life easier for bosses at small businesses will have the result of boosting the economy overall.

The chancellor is set to lay out his financial plans for the UK in parliament on Wednesday (March 23rd 2011), with speculation that a planned rise in fuel duty for April could be cancelled as one of the headline announcements.
