New Forest car dealership enters liquidation

Date Added: 20/01/2012

Members of staff have been told they have lost their jobs as a result of the liquidation of a car dealership and garage located in the New Forest.

Some six employees have been made redundant due to the failure of Bickerley Garage, which also hosted an MOT testing station, according to a report by the Andover Advertiser.

Company director Richard Forward blamed the current economic climate in the UK on the closure of the firm, which has made "significant" losses.

He said: "The companies were unable to meet their ongoing financial commitments and had no alternative but to cease to trade."

Last month, members of staff at luxury car dealership Peter Smith Sports Cars in Hatton were told their jobs are being terminated as a result of the firm being served with a winding up order.

A report by the Burton Mail said Steve Muncaster and Sarah Bell of business recovery practitioner MCR had been called in to manage the liquidation of the company.
