Katie Price liquidates two companies

Date Added: 20/05/2013

Two companies run by model-turned reality TV star Katie Price (aka Jordan) have been put into liquidation.

TV production firms Pricey Media Limited and Marvellous Creative Group Limited were operated by the 34-year-old and her brother Daniel.

The businesses had been involved in the production of Sky Living's Discovered by Katie show, which showed Ms Price's attempts to run a modelling agency.

But London-based insolvency practitioners Paul Weber and Martin Linton of Leigh Adams LLP were last move appointed to wind down Marvellous Creative Group Limited.

This is despite accounts up to August 31st last year showing that the company's two subsidiaries – Pricey Media Limited and Rain Media Limited made annual profits of £51,533 and £10,254 respectively.

Mr Webber said: "It is a members’ voluntary liquidation. It is a solvent company which was shut down for tax reasons only. There has been an orderly wind down of the assets."

Price agreed to a £5 million deal with Sky Living during 2011, according to the Guardian, but the deal was not renewed when it came to an end earlier this year.

Discovered by Katie was hailed as a personal mission for Price when it first hit the screens, but despite it getting quite a lot of media attention, it bombed with viewers and did not live up to the expectations of Sky's commissioning executive.

The show's winner, 19-year-old Amy Willerton, received much criticism and eventually fell out with the show's makers because she felt that promises were not kept and her career was left to stagnate.

"I'm so angry. When I won, I thought life would change. It has... but for the worse. My life’s been turned upside down. I’ve had enough of Katie and don’t want anything more to do with her or her team," the teenage model told the Daily Mail.
