Jobs pledge 'crucial for business insolvency advice customers'

Date Added: 11/01/2011

A pledge on the creation of jobs has been welcomed by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), which has claimed that the news will benefit smaller firms such as those taking business insolvency advice.

According to David Frost, director general of the organisation, the comments made by prime minister David Cameron are a welcome start, but industry needs to see exactly what changes he is proposing to implement.

"While many large companies have pledged to create new jobs this year, the government must do more to boost the confidence of small and medium-sized firms so that they can do the same," he said.

The BCC director general added that firms such as those taking business insolvency advice are being prevented from employing staff because of the current employment regulations.

Last week, the BCC called for 2011 to be made a year for growth, explaining it is important that the state provides support for smaller firms in order to sustain the country's economic recovery.
