Furniture retailer enters liquidation

Date Added: 04/11/2011

Some 55 people have lost their jobs as a result of the liquidation of a furniture company that was based in south Yorkshire.

Doncaster's John Peters appointed Christopher Brooksbank of O'Hara & Co insolvency practitioners at the end of last month, reports York newspaper the Press.

A statement was released by Mr Brooksbank explaining that each member of staff had been dismissed as a result of the liquidation of the organisation.

He said: "I currently do not possess full details of outstanding customer orders and deposits paid. Once in possession of which I intend to write to all customers setting out what the position is."

Last month, it was revealed that the Bryn Awel in Mold had been forced to enter liquidation, with a dozen members of staff informed they will lose their jobs due to the closure of the hotel.

The Flintshire Chronicle reported that owners Graham and Liz Fender confirmed the accommodation will not be reopening, while Mold councillor Chris Bithell said it was a blow to the town.
