Flintshire hotel goes into liquidation

Date Added: 28/10/2011

A hotel in Flintshire has been forced to enter liquidation as a result of financial difficulities, with a dozen jobs lost at the location due to its closure.

The Bryn Awel in Mold has closed its doors, with mourners of a local man told that they will have to hold the wake elsewhere.

According to the Flintshire Chronicle, owners Graham and Liz Fender confirmed that the hotel will not be reopening.

Mold councillor Chris Bithell said: "It's a blow to the town and I'm very disappointed.

"We are trying to encourage people to visit Mold to see what it has to offer and they need places to stay."

Mr Fender added that everyone who has made an advance booking to stay at the Bryn Awel will get their money back and has been informed of the liquidation of the hotel.

Robin Twigge, who runs The Swan Hotel in Harleston, recently told the Eastern Daily Press that common sense is required to improve the business lending situation.
