Business liquidation advice potentially used by north-east jewellers

Date Added: 06/01/2011

A jewellery company based in the north-east of England may have required business liquidation advice, as it has been forced to close all of its stores in the country.

The first Lebeado shop was opened in 2007 in Durham and further outlets were launched in Newcastle and London, but the organisation went into liquidation just after Christmas, according to the Northern Echo.

Run by Jill and Kate Watkins, a mother and daughter team, the shop specialised in beads and other equipment used in jewellery-making crafts.

Kate was awarded the Every Woman in Retail Awards prize for entrepreneur in 2009 and her father - Jill's husband - is serial entrepreneur Karl Watkins, who owns various enterprises such as Crabtree, D1 Oils and Plane Chartering.

Another organisation to go into liquidation recently is print firm SV Two Digital, with a spokeswoman telling Print Week the company is trying to find a buyer for its assets.
