Business debt help customers 'can drive economic recovery'

Date Added: 20/10/2010

Business debt help customers could be among those which are able to grow and help to pull the economy in the UK away from a double-dip recession.

This is according to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), which stated that the £81 billion spending cuts outlined by the chancellor George Osborne today will have an impact on everyone.

John Walker, national chairman of the FSB, explained that in order to help to power the recovery of the economy, firms such as those currently taking business debt help need the government to implement a programme for growth.

"It is up to the government to incentivise the small business community - through extending the National Insurance Contribution holiday to existing firms and cutting VAT to five per cent in the construction sector," he said.

Mr Walker argued that this would enable firms such as business debt help customers to take on new members of staff.

Phil McCabe, media and PR manager for the Forum of Private Business, recently said that the Spending Review will lead to more companies needing business debt help.
