Police to probe company collapse

Date Added: 10/02/2012

The failure of a company in Scotland is set to be investigated by the local police force.

Kiltarlity-based Highland Natural Products lost out on a share of an estimated £50 million fortune after it entered a deal with retail giants Boots, reports the Highland News.

But the company went into liquidation before it was able to take advantage of the new agreement with the pharmacy.

Labour MSP Rhoda Grant stated what happened to the firm is a real "concern" to her, as well as her constituents.

"There is obviously a personal loss in this issue for my constituents and there is a wider loss for the Highlands and Islands economy," she said.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman confirmed that an inquiry is ongoing into the failure of the company.

Boots has around 2,500 stores all over the UK and on its website claims its aim is to make people feel better than they ever thought they were able to.
