More haulage firms speaking to company debt help firms

Date Added: 29/10/2010

An increasing number of haulage businesses are needing to take company debt help, according to newly-released figures from the Insolvency Service.

Road Transport reports that there have already been 13 company voluntary arrangements (CVAs) in the sector in the first half of 2010.

This compared with 14 in the whole of last year and the same number in 2008.

"These figures are even more remarkable when they are compared with the number of company administrations and liquidations in the sector over the same period," said the news provider.

It pointed out that while the figures for the first six months of the year are yet to take into account seasonal adjustments, they still show that more firms in the sector are needing company debt help.

Robin Ellison, partner at international law firm Pinsent Masons, recently stated that the introduction of auto-enrolment for pension schemes is likely to lead to increasing numbers of company debt help customers.
