Entrepreneurs given advice on starting a business

Date Added: 03/06/2011

Entrepreneurs have been advised of some of the things they need to consider when they are looking into starting a new business.

Jon Norris, editor of Freelance Advisor, stated that more people are looking to begin their own ventures as a result of the success of TV shows such as Dragons' Den.

He explained this is because the programmes make running a business look glamorous, at a time when many individuals have lost their jobs in the last couple of years.

"[They were] in sort of cushy government jobs and now they've suddenly found themselves without jobs and they're being forced to form their own limited company and go their own way," said Mr Norris.

He added that although entrepreneurs have a lot of freedom, they must be aware of how much work it takes to run a business.

Former star of Dragons' Den James Caan recently reminded those who are starting their own company that sales levels have to be sustainable in the long-term.
