Corporate debt consultancy customers warned of seasonal dangers

Date Added: 09/12/2010

Christmas is a time of year which can cause many different types of problems for companies such as those taking advice from a corporate debt consultancy.

This is according to the Forum of Private Business (FPB), which stated that litigation and staff disputes can be a concern over the Christmas period.

The organisation told bosses at corporate debt consultancies to be wary of Christmas parties and explained that they should not pressurise staff to attend as they may not want to for faith or abstinence reasons.

It added that employees should be informed at an early stage of the behaviour which will be expected at the party.

"Make it clear that your usual disciplinary policies apply, even if the party is being held away from the workplace," added the FPB.

Dr Adam Marshall, director of policy at the British Chambers of Commerce, recently suggested that firms taking advice from a corporate debt consultancy could try to avoid employing women who may become pregnant because of the new Pregnant Workers Directive.
